Is It Effective Only With Conductive Aluminum Tape?

It is rumored that there is no point in sticking aluminum tape if the glue is not conductive. Therefore, I decided to purchase a conductive tape and perform a comparative experiment with aluminum tape, copper foil tape, and aluminum tape black from the one dollar store.

The conductive aluminum tape is made of 3M. Even the data is attached properly. If you compare it with this, you will get good results.

I stuck it on the blade of the cutter and checked the resistance value. It shows 0.026 kΩ (26 Ω). If you stick it firmly, the resistance value should be lower, but it is meaningless if you press it strongly and the aluminum comes into direct contact, so just press it lightly. By the way, the aluminum tape and aluminum tape black of the $ 1 store are not conductive. The copper foil tape was about 100Ω.

1) Copper foil tape
The upper half of the photo is with the tape attached, and the lower half of the photo is with the tape removed. Since the background color of the tape is different, it is difficult to see the dust condition, so I took a picture of the tape removed to make it easier to compare. Since it takes time to remove the tape and it is moving, dust has adhered than immediately after the experiment. I would like to use it as the standard for this comparative experiment.

2) The one dollar store Aluminum Tape
A classic aluminum tape? I think it is often used by people who want to try it for the time being.

3) Aluminum tape black
Aluminum tape recommended for those who are reluctant to stick the aluminum tape as it is on the conspicuous place. The surface is processed black so that it is not noticeable. I would like people who think that surface-processed aluminum tape is ineffective to take a look.

4) 3M conductive aluminum tape
This is the main feature of this experiment. As you can see the experimental results.

Did you see the difference in the effect of the four types of tape? My conclusion was that “conductive aluminum tape has no clear advantage”. From the experimental results, there is no big difference between the conductive aluminum tape and other tapes. All have been shown to have a static elimination effect. In terms of cost, the one dollar store aluminum tape is the best choice. Also, from the appearance, there is a choice of aluminum tape black. What is the basis for those who said, “There is no point in sticking it unless it is conductive aluminum tape!”
